Beatrice A. Chamberlain
March 13, 1915 - April 29, 2012
Age 97, a resident of East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, formerly of
Castile, died April 29, 2012 at the nursing facility.
She was born March 13, 1915 in the Town of Eagle, daughter of the late John and Ethel
Randall Anderson. Beatrice worked for many years as a sewing machine operator at the
former Perry Knitting Company. She was a long time member of the Castile United Church of
Christ where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern
Star, Perry Chapter for over 50 years and she was a past matron. She was also a member of
the Oak Hill Club. Beatrice enjoyed cooking and playing cards and she loved to crochet
afghans for friends and family. She was also a member of the Golden Agers and went on
many group trips.
She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Chamberlain who died in 2005.
Surviving are her daughter, Norma (Jack) Spencer of Perry; her son, William Chamberlain
of Silver Springs; her sister, Evelyn Buck of Bliss; her sisters-in-law, Velma Anderson
of Bliss, Margaret Anderson of Florida; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great
great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Forrest
Anderson, Donald Anderson, Howard Anderson, James Anderson, Merta Sargent, Doris Fratus,
Loretta Ford, Dorothy Martin, Ethlyn Anderson and Elizabeth Hurlburt.
Friends may call Tuesday 5 – 8 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile.
A service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the Castile United Church of Christ, cor. N.
Main & Washington Sts., Castile. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile. Memorials may
be made to the Castile United Church of Christ or the Castile Rescue Squad or East Side
Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund, Warsaw, NY.
